Our Story

Black Country Health & Well-being Foundation (BCHWF) is a not-for-profit organisation which was established in 2018.

The aims of the group are to:

a) To encourage and promote all aspects of healthy living and well-being throughout society.

b) Encourage and assist the formation of workshops, clubs and groups to foster those ends.

c) Create a safe place for community members to live, work and enjoy and work towards tackling health inequalities by working in collaboration with local, regional and national partners.

We will work to:

  1. Engage with community members so they are able to influence planning and design of projects.
  2. Encourage communities to lead a healthy living by designing projects which promote health eating, positive mental health and physical activity.
  3. Engage with community members who are seldom heard and work towards greater involvement from these groups in the design and delivery of our project activities .
  4. Design projects which tackle health inequalities in the community .
  5. Seek appropriate funding to further the aims of BCHWF.
  6. Design and deliver appropriate transformational training providing solutions for organisations and institutions who share our aims and objectives.
  7. Develop relevant and beneficial partnerships with the Council, the NHS and other bodies.
  8. Encourage more people, from all sections of the community, to get involved in the projects which would promote an atmosphere of mutual appreciation and respect.
  9. Encourage users and members to organise public social activities to further the aims of BCHWF.
  10. Seek good working relations with other user groups in the community.
